I sincerely hope that you have better luck with the Reporter's Unit than we did here in Thurso. The application for ASDA to build a supermarket/filling station was turned down by the Scottish Govt on the reccommendation of the Reporter last year, which means that the cheapest fill-up is at Tesco in Wick, a round trip of over 40 miles. Tesco also have more or less everything bilingual in large Rhys Wynnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17524815272093960511noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10213884.post-27380994401367236832008-06-07T10:53:00.000+00:002008-06-07T10:53:00.000+00:00Damned if you do, damned if you…Invercentric is a ...Damned if you do, damned if you…
Invercentric is a strong word and one that should not be used lightly, but the leader in this week’s Inverness Courier seems to demand that this word be applied once again to our near neighbour’s broadsheet. There is a word that Iain Bain has coined and uses in the Nairnshire that sums it all up, 'Invercentric'.
If the Courier doesn't want your comments then they are more than welcome here and I'm glad to report that the Gurn's viewing figures have shot up as a result of the whole Graisghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07238279516517079956noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10213884.post-44566922404975898292008-06-06T17:17:00.000+00:002008-06-06T17:17:00.000+00:00I just posted a comment in the Courier website on ...I just posted a comment in the Courier website on its editorial about the Sainsbury's planning decision (also the similar decision a while back for Asda). The whole tone of the editorial seemed to be that Councilors should ignore their electorate's views and instead always defer to the recommendations of unelected officials.
