Subway job ad wets social media appetites

Talk of a Subway coming to Nairn occasional surfaces on local social network sites but those fans of this particular sandwich shop chain who live locally are pretty certain it is about to arrive soon. Why? - this job ad for a store manager on the Directgov jobs site.

  5. Interesting article anon, the majority of comments on it though slam it as being one-sided and others say that we all should make informed choices about what we eat and can over indulge any time and anywhere we like.
Whatever the debate about the ideal food to eat from what this observer has seen on social media this Subway in Nairn will be a hit.

What a shame. We have award winning bakers in Nairn who folk will no-doubt vacate for this US chain serving fast food. It might gain us a few p/t jobs but it'll be a loss overall for Nairn

  7. @anon 8.20 Do you really think so - is there a ceiling on the amount of money Nairn residents wish to spend on food from take-aways etc? Just look at how busy the High Street is of an evening.

  8. Ethically slaughtered meat or not anon 8.55? Animals have to die to provide us with food either way. Best ethical way is not to eat meat. This observer may well try the veggie options at Subway.

Not forgetting MacLeans Bakery, which is the one I prefer. At the end of the day people will shop where they want. Why shouldn't Nairn people have more choice or are we supposed to stay behind the times in case it upsets other establishments!!!!!
