Festive period gets underway on the Riverside

Murd and Jock were up bright and early decorating the festive trees on the Riverside walks. By the time this observer arrived onsite the 12 carol singers had moved on for their annual Christmas walk up to the Cawdor Tavern - maybe next year we will manage to get there in time to record their performance for posterity. Anyway, here's a few images of what you can see if you go for a stroll around the river.

Excellent - "Gurning" alone achieves little. "Doing" things for Nairn - really does! Well done Murd and his Groupies!!

Good for Murd and his gang. Christmas is about spreading goodwill. This ought to bring a smile to the faces of anyone who walks along the Riverside.

I'm sure Murd will be quite happy if anyone wants to hang a decoration of their own on the trees but please don't take any already there!

I just hope that none of the decorations blow away into the river and float downstream

  7. No jock is a shankie on loan to Boath park!
As for the decorations blowing away the shankie will part with nothing and as for the fisher's ending up with them. Something A shankie would never live down.

Thank you, I walked the dog and my 3 year old nephew around the river and he was delighted the elf's have been hard at work!

Lovely - just hope folks leave them alone for everyone to enjoy, or add to them !

  10. The trees were decorated at our own expense.
So any one can add and be most welcome to do so. I was in the proceeds of decorating when when the Girls on there annul walk arrived.
They did take some photos and they would be most appreciated if copes were sent to the GURN E-mail
info@gurnnurn.com or passed on to me for all to see.
We only try to add something extra to what is a lovely walk and most of the kids enjoy seeing the trees as do others judging by what is said.
    THANKS FROM ALL INVOLVED
    MURD

A nice idea but I'm a little concerned about harm to riverside wildlife and fish should any of the decorations stray.
