Well this is interesting. The farmer has sold this field, which I suppose makes sense, as this is flood plain. You can't build houses on flood plain.
I do hope they will not leave all the rubbish from any future shows lying in the field though. This area is usually used to grow crops making it a good foraging area for curlews and other birds. I have taken some great photographs of them over the years.
But nature always takes second place where humans and money is involved.Hopefully the field will be used productively throughout the rest of the year.

How can this be a 'sensational scoop' when Iain Bain of the former Nairnshire Telegraph is a trustee of the Davidson trust?

  3. Anon, the Farmers Shows are always litterless at the end of the day. More concerning perhaps is the weekly amount of litter left on the nearby riverside paths and elsewhere in the town.

I think the Show will be much improved by being closer to town. The Showfield in the town centre was such a great site for us townies. We'll be back next year to the riverside - and we'll leave it tidy afterwards.
