Nairn Allotment Society seeking help from supporters for next week
Nairn Allotment Society are asking all members, those on their waiting list and all supporters to help them by attending the Sandown Charrette in the Courthouse next week or, if they are unable to attend, by filling in a letter of support. More details of how to help on the Nairn Allotment Society webpages.
The plotters have European funding for 38 more allotments and facilities for community groups but have to convince the Charrette that their project should go ahead on the Sandown Common Good Land. For details of the Charrette and the NAS plans see this Gurn article.

Famous Tattie Guru coming to Nairn next month
How were your tatties this year? This observer had a very good crop, the rain was pretty kind to potatoes this summer. Down in Mill Road many of the new allotment holders report good crops too. They could come handy for a wee while if the cash machines stop functioning in the near future. But anyway here's news of an event that is arousing interest in local horticultural circles and beyond.
Nairn Allotment Society present the famous tattie Guru Mr Alan Romans.
Saturday 12th November 2011 in Nairn Community Centre at 7.30 p.m. prompt
Tickets £5 which includes refreshment, raffle and various stalls. Contact Mandy via the e-mail address in the sidebar or on 07801502147
The NAS are also still looking for your help in getting a cludgie for Mill Road.

Busy Nairn Allotment Society - Open days and boot sale in August
Nairn Allotment Society have a busy programme of events in August starting with their open day at Sandown on Sunday the 7th. There will be the usual range of stalls and tea/coffee available.
On Sunday 14th the event will be repeated down at the new allotments in Mill Road. Both events run from midday to four o’ clock. Perhaps you would like to help the Society in its campaign to get more allotments in Nairn or would even like a plot yourself. If so please come along for a chat with the membership at either of the open days.
Then on Sunday the 21st the Society will be holding a car boot sale at the Maggot Car Park. A chance there to sell a few spare items for cash. A pitch for your car will cost £5 but no traders please. Again the event will run from 12.00 - 16.00.
The allotment society look forward to seeing you at the 3 August events. For further details or to book a space at the boot sale contact infor@nairnallotments.org
