Nairn Academy Climate strikers - Week 10 of their regular protest - further action planned for Saturday 25th of May in Inverness

The young people today were delighted with yesterday's decision of Highland Council to declare a Climate and Ecological emergency. They were joined by mothers with pre-school children who support their action.
The Gurn understands that the Nairn youngsters are, with other young people in the Highlands, organising a march and rally in Inverness on Saturday the 25th of May. More details when we have them.

More pictures here.

I am amazed to know that all the children in U K will be giving up lifts to school and holidays abroad.
Which is a vital part of saving the planet. And if the get USA and China onside I will be even more amazed.
Good Luck ...Sincerely.

Why the negativity towards the wonderful efforts of the Academy pupils? Many are too young to choose as to where or how they go on holiday as it's their parents choice, I fully applaud them.

Maybe if we all did something other than be cynical keyboard warriors we really could bring about change?

Slagging protesters off is simply another form of denial

Oh I see ...the parents don t back them up in there quest. What hope have they got then ?
If you read the ‘ amazed ‘ comment properly you would see it was not slagging off...it was stating facts.

The point is that the striking students are our hope, their parents generation (and those before) have let us and the planet down and continue to do so
