Nairn High Street re-wilding policy nearing success?

The High Street is looking very green these days. Good to see ecological policies working well.

Councillors wouldn't stand for this outside the beautifully-restored Townhouse in Inverness.
Are there any other prestigious buildings across the whole of the Highlands that look so neglected every year? Little point spending over £Million to then not spend £10/week for someone to weed the pavement!
Keep Nairnshire Colourful - and Beautiful please.

I thought Nairn Bid received thousands of pounds for cleaning the High Street?

850 grand well spent on Courthouse renovations - with garden features included.

All Highland Council effort seems to be going into getting parking charges out of Common Good land just now. Haven't any Councillors noticed the pitiful state of the High Street? What do they all get 16,000 pounds a year each for?

Nairn councillors & BID ought to take a right good look @ the town centre! It is covered in unsightly stinking seagull cr@p (what happened to the egg removal scheme that we were told would happen each year?) We know it is a seaside town but they gulls are taking over & being much more aggressive & not just because of their chicks, it`s because we are letting them behave the way they want!! I try to avoid the town centre as much as I can nowadays as it depresses me! It wouldn`t take much to get it looking more welcoming!

Nairn BID are not responsible for cleaning the High St, as they clearly stated on page 11 in their voted upon 2018 Business Plan. The Council is still responsible for its legal statutory street cleaning as per the "baseline services agreement", however that is a very bare minimum. Nairn BID can spend some of its money carrying out "additional" street cleaning, but according to minutes of the Board of Directors meetings:-

From the Minutes of the Nairn BID Ltd. Board of Directors meeting held on the 11th February 2020:-
QUOTE:-
“The Board agreed that the work makes a big difference, but we need to be mindful of the cost Michael Boylan pointed out that once it’s been done that will be it for 2-3yrs.”
END QUOTE

From the Minutes of the Nairn BID Ltd. Board of Directors meeting (via telephone conferencing) held on the 7th April 2020:-
QUOTE:-
“Richie Main has carried on with work & completed first section. Maintenance of this afterwards – no budget or resource from Highland Council. Need to encourage shop owners to look after their own area after lockdown”.
END QUOTE

From the Minutes of the Nairn BID Ltd. Board of Directors meeting (via telephone conferencing) held on the 2nd June 2020:-
QUOTE:-
“Michael Boylan said that more cleaning had been done this year than had been planned for, so we would just get quotes for now.”
END QUOTE

Regarding the Seagull egg & nest removal, Nairn BID Ltd. have this year in emails to its members stated that they removed eggs & nests from 28 properties. This the same number as last year. Most of these properties are not on the High St. & include the High Council depot on Balblair Rd., the football ground, Gordons Sawmill, Sainsbury's, Whinnieknowe, etc. A list of the 2020 properties can be found here:-https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=934623090312773&set=gm.2022053221260689
