Broadband issues in Nairn

Internet access is only marginally better this morning and was awful for most of yesterday. Anyone else having problems?

We had no broadband at the shop for almost a fortnight - only got it fixed on Tuesday, it was a fault at the exchange, apparently.

Broadband at home was on and off last night and it's still not quite right at work today. Solid DSL light on router.............but intermittent connectivity.

Perhaps the rain got somewhere it shouldn't have.

BT have told me that it is a routing issue (once again)

They have a four hour fix policy (that went out the window last Monday)

And they are very sorry

I was told to google "BT complaints" when the service was back up, maybe they don't provide telephone directories for their staff anymore!

I've not had any problems with my broadband this week and I'm up near Cawdor Rd. Perhaps I should consider myself lucky?!

Wednesday was down all day - today is not good either but it is coming and going all the time.
Hope BT give us a reduction line the line rental etc. - dream on.

Heard too it is bad down the Fishertown if you are with Tiscali just now.
One wonders if someone from the Nairnie had to rush up to the Dingwall printers with a memory stick on Monday?

Broadband (SKY) in Lodgehill area was on and off last night. Took several attempts to send an attachment that had to reach its destination last night.

At the moment it's all righ........

Things are looking up - I've just been on for over 10 minutes without getting kicked out - a bit of a novelty this uninterupted internet use :-)

Mill road has been ok with BT, usual drop in speed at peak ours though.
Talk Talk are now offering LLU in Nairn! They are offering me 16 megs which is 10 megs more than BT can offer, I switch next week.

*LLU, Local Loop Unbundling is where your line is "unbundled" from BT at the exchange giving you a direct connection with a different provider.

If anyone gets TalkTalk post back on how you get on. Used to be with them but the customer service was terrible.

Well I took the plunge and have moved to TalkTalk. So far so good, change-over was smooth and only down for 20 minutes. Speed upload and download is performing at close to line-speed so no complaints. Will post another comment when I am a little further in, but with a 30-day get-out clause I think I am safe. Fingers crossed.
