Highland Council move the goalposts!

Down at the Riverside pitch in ongoing efforts to make the playing surface available for Welfare League sides participating in the Winter League. Gurnites may remember manager of Jacko's side Craig Walker speaking to the Gurn. Local councillors were quick to listen to his concerns.

Our Council workmen are great. Really understaffed - but they do their best in all weathers. Some of us are greatful - and we don't like the pee being extracted by the Gurnshire every time we don't do it as well as some folk think they could!

Well done to everyone concerned for coming up with a swift solution. Makes a change for 'moving the goalposts' to have such a positive outcome!

Lets hope the welfare are AS QUICK TO TIDY UP after a playing there as they are to complain! I agree something had to be done for safety if nothing els, But surely they aren't that burnt out they cant put there rubbish in the bin provided.
I will keep the gurn posted on litter left after A game,

I take it from the wording of your post that you maybe work for the council? I can't see as to how this Gurn article is taking the pee, but well done for giving yourself a pat on the back

@Take a bow The Council boys do deserve a pat on the back, they do their best for the community at at time of cuts and great uncertainty in their work place too. It is possible for people to jump to the wrong conclusions when things go wrong however, when you keep cutting the way things have gone in recent years then things will sometimes go wrong - when that happens they have to be reported to bring them to public attention and that can help in the fight to defend the services we already have in Nairn from being cut further. Sometimes a few people want to take the piss yes but that is the way of the world. This observer thinks the great majority of Nairnshire are on the side of the work force and know the bigger picture.
Let's back those on the front line of Council services - there are £50 worth of cuts coming from Highland Council soon and Nairnshire will have to fight its corner every step of the way.

Actually. I don't.
But clap yourself anyway.
Let's hear it for the guys in the yellow vans!

@local businessman, you will have to put your head up above the parapet and come up with specifics if you want to go any distance along that road.

Sorry I'm concentrating on buying a lottery ticket tonight and leaving out the millions lol.

Thank you Shudder for the crowd editing moment - let's go with £50 million of cuts.

Aye, Graisg, £50 in cuts, thought we'd got off lightly there.

Was there much point in the moving of the goalpoasts while the old bare and dangerous goalmouths haven't been touch and are still there waiting to cause a serious injury.

Believe that is stage two anon - new stuff coming perhaps and green side up?
