Another live Internet Broadcast for Games Day 2018 - Thanks to "Nairn when you were a bairn members"

Admin of the NWYWAB social media site Stephen Smerdon told the Gurn:

"Following last year's success of the Nairn games being broadcast live in the Facebook group 'Nairn when you were a bairn' with viewers topping 2000. This year there will be a 'just giving ' page set up by the games committee to receive donations from all those viewing the live broadcast where ever they might be in the world. One member of the group will be watching the broadcast whilst on there holiday cruise !

But the main news about this year's live broadcast is that Nwywab has been lent a digital projector and large screen which will be set up in Whinnieknowe care home where the residents who perhaps have been unable to attend the games for many years will be able to sit in the comfort of there dayroom where they can also watch the live broadcast too on the big screen."

Do think he could be persuaded to do this while walking backwards along one side of the road rather than down the middle? Or perhaps in a cycle rickshaw being pedalled down the side of the street?

That way he would still capture the magic of the event for those watching it on video without ruining the chances of all the people who were actually there of getting a decent photo which is what he did last year.

Why don't you concentrate Paul on all the happiness that was created for all those who now stay abroad and able to catch up on the games live . I'm sure Stephen will have learnt lessons from last year.as for Ruining photo opertunities that is extremely petty there are plenty of opportunities for everyone to get there chance for a photo on the day.. well done Stephen and don't let remarks like this put of the wonderful things you do

Apart from the unnecessary sarcastic remarks about Rickshaws. yes In hindsight I could of done things differently my thoughts at the time of filming were rightly or wrongly with the 2000 viewer's who for whatever reason either through not living here anymore or the housebound who I know we're watching. Yes things will be different this year and I will be walking on the side of the road rather than the middle. But I'm sure you will find something to complain about this year too.!

Drone filming ? Nobody obstructing anybody

Problem with Drones is you can't get right into the action and can only film from above because of all the new laws regarding drones and you must be a certain distance from places where people are. No what I am gonna do this year is just stick to walking on the side of the street as I said yes in hindsight I could of done things differently last year but it was my first time but there are always people no matter what you do will find something to moan about . I did all that in my free time and because I didn't have wi fi so I spent a fair bit of money out of my own pocket to pay for 4G mobile data ! Everything I did last year was certainly not for self gratification but just someone thinking of others who for whatever reason could not attend the games .
