South Nairn Planning appeal dismissal - Comment from Michael Green - Joan Noble "star player"

Michael gave evidence at the appeal hearing on the behalf of the Council and the community, here's his reaction to the Scottish Government Reporter's decision to dismiss the appeal:

"The decision by the Reporter to dismiss the Nairn South appeal is a tremendous outcome for Nairn and recognizes the pivotal role that local people should have in shaping the future of their communities.

From start to finish this was a team effort, involving community councils and committed individuals, all of whom worked tirelessly to ensure that the right outcome for Nairn was reached, eventually. However, like all teams, Team Nairn had their star player and I would have to say that Dr Joan Noble, with her detailed work on traffic management, was the star player for Nairn.

Whilst the final outcome was both sensible and correct, the path to the appeal was far from perfect. Going forward, I will be working to facilitate a more effective working relationship with the Highland Council Planning department and create a partnership approach that will generate development, both private and affordable, in scale and location, that the people of Nairn want."
