Anti parking charges movement blossoms on Nairn High Street - now there's a petition

Posters rapidly appearing in windows today and The Flower Shop and other outlets also have petition sheets.

Update: and that's to say nothing about Leopold Street - what a hotbed of resistance that is. Support your town centre Gurnshire - tell Glenurquhart Road to do one - a big one!

Am I right in saying if you want to sign it you have to come up with an alternative budget for Highland council?

Nairn needs parking charges. Otherwise it's the same cars blocking all the spaces all day and nowhere for visitors or locals visiting the shops. A nominal fee would be a good thing, or free for first 30 minutes, then 20p for up to an hour, £1.00 for 2 hours, £££££s for any longer in the town centre.

And the Charges going into whos pockets???
I wouldn't mind paying a small fee for parking if it went back into the community Not Councillors!!
