Traffic jams through Nairn worse than usual today?

Reports this afternoon of heavy use of the West End rat run as jams built up out towards and beyond (according to one report on facebok) the western approaches to the town. Various theories as to why this happened but fingers being pointed at the traffic lights again. More on the Facebook page remove Nairn traffic lights.  Below a short video of the situation around 5 p.m.

Yeay! Missed it all!

I left Nairn leisure Centre at 1640 pm., down to King Street island and out with no delay, brief stops at the ped crossing and the Lochloy lights, then straight through to Forres by 1659.

But Graisg found a long line coming in from Inverness only a short time later. And the camera can't lie.

You have to get lucky in life. Now about that lottery win ........

we always know if the traffic is backed up in Nairn because the Clephanton Village junction becomes abound with fast moving irate drivers disregarding the 30mph even more than usual...

The reason was, a car broke down near the turn-off to Lodgehill West. Problem no-one was helping them get it off the road to allow traffic through. Also a wide load was through the town about one hour early.
