Local Flood alert on River Nairn "In coastal areas high river levels may combine with high tides on Wednesday"

SEPA state on their website tonight:

"A FLOOD ALERT has been issued for Findhorn Nairn Moray and Speyside. 

Rivers are expected to respond to heavy rainfall on Tuesday overnight into Wednesday. In coastal areas high river levels may combine with high tides on Wednesday. There is a risk of flooding to low-lying land and roads."

Heavy rainfall over Nairn earlier tonight
Earlier this evening drains were overflowing in the usual places leaving an odour of sewage in the air.

wasn't there thousands of pounds spent installing a huge tank at riverside years ago,to collect water from rainstorms,then release it when water levels went down?
obviously it doesn't work,another waste of money,that could have been better spent elsewhere.
