Cawdor goes to the polls

A resignation has taken the number of members on Cawdor and West Nairnshire Community Council down to critical levels and precipitates an election to fill five places on the council. Anyone interested in standing might be interested in the following information from Highland Council.
Election of Cawdor and West Nairnshire Community Council

Nominations are invited from persons seeking election to Cawdor and West Nairnshire Community Council. The resignation of 1 member has brought the community council down to below half of its membership of 9, and prompted this interim election to fill the 5 vacancies.

Persons seeking election require to be entered in the current Electoral Register for the Community Council area, or if aged 16 or 17 years old, have completed a Voter Registration Application Form (78kb pdf)

The Nomination form and the scheme for the establishment of Community Councils are available on The Highland Council’s website www.highland.gov.uk/elections or can be obtained on request by e-mail to elections@highland.gov.uk; in person from any Service Point or from the Council’s Election Office (Tel 01463 702945).

Completed nomination forms must be submitted to Louise Clark, Ward Manager, Nairn, The Court House, Nairn, IV12 4AU and must be received not later than 4pm on Wednesday 15 August 2012.

The Ward Manager will accept e-mailed copies of the Form, so long as it has been correctly completed and contains the signature of the candidate and witness. The contact e-mail address is louise.clark@highland.gov.uk
