Saturday night at the blogs

Nairn blogger Bill is talking about the merits of buying the Big Issue, the Gurnmeister doesn't believe in that anymore. Meanwhile Ayeright has stumbled upon a slightly out of date guide to Nairn that is a very strange read indeed. 'A trip advisor with bad attitude', suggests Ayeright.
Cheers everyone.

Well I never heard of that guide before either, but it amused me and seems pretty perceptive, too, however much that may distress some local worthies.

Maybe all Big Issue sales people could carry a country of origin badge - save so much guess work

I can think of a few reasons for not shopping at Somerfield but the presence of a 'Big Issue' seller at the door would certainly have never appeared in my top ten :)

Poor choice, prices and the general appearance of the place , yes - but a Big Issue seller?

Someone best have a word with Sainbury's quick. If they get some touting the Big Issue up at Balmakeith when it opens, the place could be doomed before it even starts .

Can't help thinking these comments are on the wrong blog lol

The other 'blog' mentioned isn't worth a comment. It was established for the 'youff' to let others of that ilk know where things were 'happening' in an area.

Unfortunately though, it isn't moderated as such, so it's full of 'flaming' comments, and now isn't worth the space it takes up on t'interent

Agreed spurtle, I was thinking more along the lines of Bill and the 'theory of giving to the Big Issue' issue and how that can impact on your desire to go to Somerfield - that is if anyone in Nairn really desires to go there in the first place given that we are all to a certain extent a captive market.

If Jordon House folk are evicted the town will be awash with Big Issue sellers. Some Nairn residents wouldn't be able to step up the street let alone enter a shop!

I reckon its about time the governing body of "the big issue " made a policy of how some of these vendors make there pitch . when asked by a vendor would i like a big issue i always give a polite no thank-you.. but i think it is wrong for them to try and emotionaly blackmail me by saying "please Im hungry" what some people tend to forget is that not only are these vendors in receipt of benefits they also make there comission of there sales.. so in a way they are slightly better off than a lot of people on benefits here... I am seriously thinking about when my eviction day comes from jordan house...buying a second hand accordian and learning 2 chords ( 1 more than the lady that sits outside hydro electric ) and get some serious busking done!
