Nairn 1 Strathspey 0 - and the welfare league starts too Jackos 0 Nairn United 8

Another chilly Wednesday night at Station Park and a battling performance from an ever improving Strathspey side as they go down to a Steve Ellis goal. Always good to see former Nairn players (County or Saints) performing well for the opposition when they come back here in the league. Last night was no exception and one of these days Marc MacDonald will get his long desired goal on the turf he knows so well, we'll have to wait until next season now to see if that happens however. So another three points for the County and a home game against the Broch on Saturday. More excitment beckons soon.

Ealier down on the Riverside the Welfare league kicked off and Jackos went down to a heavy defeat in an encounter with local rivals Nairn United. Jackos actually have broken new ground and have a captain from Forres, Derek Theman is a little downcast on twitter today but determined to move forward he said: "Tonight was nothing short of an embarrassment. Tears. Training Tuesday and hopefully kick on from there."
