Just a perfect day in Nairn...

The fantastic weather continues and all over the social media folk are telling their friends how good it is in Nairn - for example here's a happy visitor showing the world how fantastic an experience it is to be on Nairn beach.

Others too like film mannie Mark Cousins were in Nairn today, it's all just a perfect day - unless you are on the A96 that is. See the two contrasting tweets below.

Tried to get traffic Scotland to put it on there site but they refused as "it was not an incident"
There was an ambulance trying to get through town west to east and having to drive completely into the oncoming traffic as the left lane was stopped from Tradespark down to Lochloy Rd junction, again!!!!

There are no favours done by ranting over the new lights. as usual it is the Lochloy junction causing the chaos. How many years is this now? I sat at that junction this weekend at a red light for three minutes whilst the little green man came on to allow non existent pedestrians to cross and the junction light stayed green to let non existent traffic to exit Lochloy/ Dunbar? avenue.

Did the traffic lights get reset to their default settings during the power cut last week? There is a school of thought that believes that the lights were installed incorrectly with the default position having traffic from Lochloy taking priority over the A96. Despite the amount of software tweaks, it could be that the default hardware settings are now being used

its about time bear Scotland got their act together, over 2 years, nairn has been choked with traffic because of these lights, its the planning dept to blame for this too?,definately no need for lights at bottom of road at boath park, the merryton lights are main problem stopping A 96 traffic for 3 mins,to let 2 or 3 cars exit merryton, surely a road could be built onto A 96 via hendersons roundabout to let merryton traffic out easier without holding up main road traffic, the issue of Cawdor road fiasco needs seriously addressed to,thier philosophy is,,,,ach, wait till there,s an accident, and then we,ll look at it again,a 5 year old kid has more sense, cars /drivers had no problems going under bridge for over 50 years without incident, now, there is near collisions on a daily basis
sooner murd/council/bear/roads dept gets it sorted, the better for all
thank you for use of your page.
I am,
yours etc

Cawdor Rd/ Balblair junction just a few minutes ago. I am going down hill to head towards Cawdor and 1 car comesd through and I could see another up at the bollards so I contunue to find the Picasso speeding up very very quickly to get through the bridge. I had to emergency stop to avoid a collision.
Remove the traffic calming and let people use as before a serious accident takes place.
