Beach rubbish update

No sign of Liz and her amazing silver-topped bin today but the Council were getting seriously stuck into the remaining rubbish down on the East Beach. Well done the workers! No sooner had the Gurn team turned up when HC reinforcements arrived to deal with the debris around the dog-shit bin.

In a new development Salty the Seagull has denied any involvement with the problem on the beach. 'I've been sitting on my telephone pole all weekend sunbathing waiting for Sandy to return my call. I don't know why he doesn't want to speak to me, I left my calling card on his car.'

So it takes till Tuesday for our council to collect all the rubbish from the weekend from the bins, and does that include trying to collect all that has blown away meantime?

Re write the tourist brochures
'Come to Nairn on a Wednesday, Thursday or a Friday for a rubbish free empty bin experience'

and as a visitor buy a
'Bin there, done that, got the t-shirt'
souvenir of your rubbish visit

Never mind asking 'where can I buy a bucket and spade in Nairn' The question is 'where can I buy a bin'!

Maybe Liz could start selling them (Nice bin modeling by the way :)

I went down to the East Beach on Sunday evening with a friend who was visiting Nairn for the first time. For a moment I thought I'd taken a wrong turning and had gone to the land fill sight. It was a mess.
Littering on the beach is no different to dropping it in the street and fines should be handed out.
