Writer Girl asks...

'I've just finished work and popped up the high street to get something for my tea, and also to look at the Christmas lights, only to find that I could not, no matter how hard I looked locate a Christmas tree, where has it gone or has that also fallen victim to the new style winter celebrations

While we are back on the subject the Nairn Matters blog is asking a few questions and making a few intriguing suggestions. Why not read 'Wintersong or Christmas' over on Nairn matters.

And the Spin is on the case, having discovered that Oxford is following Nairn's lead and dropping Christmas from the show programme. Following a link from the spin page you get to the Oxford Mail site and an interesting comment from a prominent Oxford muslim:

'Sabir Hussain Mirza, chairman of the Muslim Council of Oxford, said: "I'm really upset about this. This is the one occasion which everyone looks forward to in the year. Christians, Muslims and other religions all look forward to Christmas.

"This is going to be a disaster. I'm angry and very, very disappointed.'
Update: Today (02/12) a Christmas tree has appeared in the Royal Bank garden.

Does that tree belong to the people or the bank,or is it a bonus?
