And a wee gurn from our correspondent Vix Sinex:
"The demolition of the Old Community Centre continues apace. The back wall has been opened up and the reinforced concrete framework is slowly disappearing. Unfortunatelythere appears to have been an accident with the bucket and the integrity of the roof on the old Police Station has been compromised by smashing into the corner. Pictures here and here. In the current inclement weather it will not be long before the interior suffers significant water damage. I hope that within the demolition contract a sum has been set aside for peripheral damage and that our elected members make sure that a speedy AND FULL repair is carried out but I have no doubt it will be a make do and mend as usual. Remember councillors, you were elected to represent our interests. That building is part of the heritage of this town. The timing for the repair starts now. We will be watching you! "
Thanks Vix, we understand however that Highland Council have been informed by the contractors.
