Funny thing is, the YBS are actually pretty good to their saver customers. Intrest rates on larger amounts on term deposit are usually competitive, unlike some High Street banks that I could name. Once I had a smallish mortgage with the YBS, years ago, which I paid off early. The manager invited me into his office, and asked if I would like to borrow even more next time. 'We like to keep our regular customers' he said. When was the last time that a manager of another lending institution was so pleasant to anyone else?
that building was McLean and Co drapers for most of the 20th century. My grandfather's shop.Supplier of aertex vests to Mr Chaplin.
Nothing to do with this but does anyone know of anyone that was or is related to the Maclean family that lived in Balblair Road Nairn. My Gt.Grandfather Alexander Maclean was a Master Carpenter and Builder, and have just recently found a photo of him with my Gt.Grandmother which came all the way from Canada from his other Gt.Granddaughter. There were 11 children and Alexander Maclean's Mother was Ann McQueen who married Hector Maclean from Ardclach a Shoemaker.
