Nairn rooftop garden award - winner announced

Vix Sinex, as usual, got up in a gurny mood this morning: "Whilst wandering around Nairn early this morning I was struck by the variety of roof top gardens that are burgeoning during this growing season. First place has to go to The Bank of Scotland for the impressive array of greenery over their front door and the sheer pride in allowing the cable to the plastic sign to go so freestyle over the facia of the building."

Consideration was given to the expansive garden on the bus garage roof but it's a building to all intents and purposes abandoned. These are buildings that are supposedly 'maintained'.

Ww need another supermarket in Nairn. An Asda would be good. Then the Nairn High Street Mafia could extort several hundred thousand pounds out of Asda to do up their shop fronts again and hike up their rents even higher. When I purchased my house I knew I would have to repair and decorate it inside and out at my expense. Is there any way I can climb on the bandwagon for a cash handout with the mafia godfathers? Could I join THE FAMILY if I sell a few odds n ends from my front garden?

Perhaps Nairn could be onto a winner. Tha roof of the new Asda in Inverness is covered with grass to hide it a bit from local view. The roof of one of the buildings at the Forres Business Park is covered with turf as well but only a lucky few see it. Yes, invite Asda to the Bus Station, a ready made roof with resident vermin who would not require any cash to let them take over,, just a quick lick of paint inside, a few windows and Hey Presto, that takes me back a few years!

@ Pelvis Presley,

We'll leave that one well alone Pelvis, contact the Leopold Street Thunderer or the News of the Highland Screws if that's your cup of tea.
