Windsor Hotel closes

In what may well be another sign of the difficult times facing sectors of the local economy a single sheet of A4 paper on the door of the hotel gives information to callers.

I'm sure it was in a recent Inverness Courier, but it doesn't seem to be in the online edition. Anyway, I'm pretty sure I didn't imagine it. We'll see in due course.

@Nairnac

It was in the Courier in early December. The article was reporting a fire in a storage shed

This is a perfect site for conversion to social housing or for homeless accomodation. There is a large car park at the rear so no problems there and there is a gate into Viewfield at the back isn't there?

It got some mixed reviews, some of them pretty bad.

It is sad to see another local landmark bite the dust, though I have to say that my experience of said establishment was strongly reminiscent of Stanley Kubrick's 'The Shining'.
Not altogether a bad thing...

Why did it close?

No one is commenting to the press so we don't know.
