Friday miscellany

Two must see events up tomorrow. First on Saturday afternoon is the big match. Scottish Cup third round replay up at Station Park; Nairn County v Forfar Athletic. In the evening there is John Hancox's Orchards for the 21st Century talk in the Community Centre at 7.30.p.m. Want to know more about the talk? There's a link to a web page or a video to watch here.

There will be a remembrance service in St Ninians Church on Sunday commencing at 10.45 a.m. A parade organised by the British Legion will form up at 10.15. The official laying of wreaths will be at the War Memorial at 12.00 noon. In recent years there have been large turnouts at the memorial and hopefully that trend will continue this year.

Any trainspotters in the readership may remember the last day of Loco hauled service between Inverness and Aberdeen. Here is an image of that last locomotive in Nairn at the head of carriages on the 14th of May 1989, image here.. Anyone still reading this paragraph may also be interested in a Class 31 double header pictured in Nairn on the 5th of August 1995.

Skies are looking clear this morning gurnites, perhaps we'll have another mild, sunny day?
