I hope that's not rampant Japanese Knotweed bursting forth in the pic!

No, don't think so. Knotweed seems to be confined to the riverside areas with the odd attempt to establish itself along the beach. Hopefully it won't be long before the Japanese Aphid or whatever that (allegedly) will decimate it arrives in Nairnshire.

I can see that street scaping might improve this building, roof looks in the same state as the Links school though, could be costly
