Creating new jobbies

Ayeright is gurning about Gordon Brown:
'As the recession bites Gordon Brown has made a statement to the effect that companies will be paid £2,500 if they employ someone who has been out of work for 6 months or more.Fine words and actions but the reality is that the great majority of companies are laying people off at the moment, with very few hiring. It is a change to the whole economy that will get people employed, not a £2,500 carrot. Maybe it is Mr Brown who needs to be hit with a stick instead?A quick look at a jobs website reveals just one post being advertised for Nairn - don’t all rush at once!'

In light of a call for our library to take on a job centre roll, I wonder if they might find room to post the one vacancy in their window?

Over the last couple of years I have frequently looked at the Job Centre website for vacancies in Nairn and there are never very many - 1 to 2 a week.

Not sure if it is because there are no jobs on Nairn or if employers in the area don't use the Job Centre.
